AMD Radeon RX Vega at Ethereum-Mining supposedly the fastest GPU with hash rates of 70 to 100 MH/s
AMD’s Radeon-RX-Vega graphics cards are supposed to be excellent for the mining of Ethereum. The Vega-10 full range achieves hash rates of 70 to 100 MH / s, which is roughly twice as efficient as the RX 580.
Actually, the hardware world thought that the topic Radeon RX Vega and Ethereum-Mining could give an all-clear. The reason for this is a not very good performance of the Radeon Vega Frontier Edition (test) of just over 30 MH / s. In general, GPUs with HBM2 and GDDR5X memory have been inefficient in Ethereum since the crypto currency is benefiting from the lower access times of GDDR5. An optimized GeForce GTX 1070, for example, creates a similar hash rate as the GTX 1080 Ti. Because the Radeon RX Vega 64 and RX Vega 56 use the same Vega 10 GPU as the Frontier Edition, the topic should not be a problem.
Now a rumor is circulating that the Radeon RX Vega should reach 64 hash rates of 70 to 100 MH / s in Ethereum. The buyer of the caseking subsidiary overclockers.co.uk would like to have learned from a board partner, without going into great detail. The driver for the performance jump is responsible, whereby no clock rates are given for the specified hash rate.
Ethereum is only conditionally dependent on the GPU raw power, which is why the graphics chips are usually under- and the memory is overshot. A Radeon RX Vega 64 is expected to achieve a high performance even at nano-clock rates in the range of 180 watts. In the best case of 100 MH / s, an optimized RX Vega 64 would create over 500 hashes per second and watts. An optimized RX 580 creates almost 30 MH / s at around 100 watts, Nvidias Pascal-Geforces come at a maximum of 30 MH / s. AMD’s Radeon-RX-Vega graphics cards thus undisputedly undermined the ethereal efficiency core.
AMD is trying to counteract the miners by the so-called Radeon packs. These include games and discounts for Ryzen systems, but they cost a bit more. Prospectors are to be deterred by the higher costs. In addition, many traders went to the practice of sending only one, a maximum of two, graphics cards of the same type to a buyer. AMD is confident that it has built up sufficient stock to serve its players.
